| Express Mail is the only class of mail that can be insured (besides Air
Mail Parcel Post). There is a minimum weight charge of 1/2 pound. The minimum charge starts at between
$17.50-$25.00. Express Mail is automatically insured up to $500. Additional insurance over $500 is
available at the rate of $.90 per $100 value. Delivery usually takes 3-5 days.
Express Mail is best for 1) larger shipments close to or over 1/2
pounds, 2) shipments which must be insured regardless of weight, and 3) shipments which demand the
fastest delivery. Express Mail is the only class of mail which is recorded and tracked by computer.
